Jonathan Schoenberg, CFP®

President/CEO

Jonathan Schoenberg is the founder and Managing Director of ipb Financial. From the time he began his career in 2004, Jon has helped hundreds of families and businesses with insurance planning, financial planning, succession and estate planning as well as employee benefits.

As a Certified Financial Planner, Jon works closely with his client's attorneys and CPAs to make sure that their customized plans are designed to meet the unique needs of every family or business that he is helping.

Mr. Schoenberg has qualified for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) every year since he began his career and has been honored multiple times as the Agent of the Year in New York Life's Manhattan General Office. Due to his outgoing personality and strong work ethic he was handpicked to teach a class to new agents on how to build a succesful financial services practice.

Jon strongly believes in giving back to his community.  ipb Financial is the title sponsor of the Long Island 2 Day "Hope Runs Here" 5k for breast cancer awareness.  He is also a member of BNI Chapter 31, a networking group in Manhattan.

A graduate of Indiana University, Jonathan currently resides in Woodbury, Long Island with his wife Nicole, son Max and daughter Brett.

 

Kenneth Gantman

Vice President / Partner

Kenneth Gantman is a registered financial advisor specializing in high net worth individuals, business planning, insurance and group benefits. After graduating Indiana University, he spent 10 years living all over the country working as a sports agent representing professional tennis, hockey and basketball players for two sports management firms. After leaving the agency he spent almost 2 years as part of a wealth management team at Morgan Stanley in Los Angeles before moving back east and joining ipb Financial.

While working as an a agent, Kenny found himself very involved in the day to day lives of professional athletes beyond just contract and marketing work. He spent many years advising clients on aspects of budgeting, money management, investing, tax education, insurance as well as home and car purchases. The athletes valued his honesty, integrity and knowledge of a vast array of subjects.

When he decided to leave the agent business, the most logical career move was to step into the personal finance world. Kenny enjoys meeting new people and finding out what their financial goals are. No matter big or small, there can always be a plan put in place for every client to achieve those goals. He feels his work with professional athletes has set him up to never be surpised at what life throws at him.

Kenny enjoys playing tennis and golf as well as traveling around the world. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild of America. He lives in Florham Park, NJ with his wife Jessica who is a licensed speech pathologist.

 

Phillip Rothman

Vice President / Partner

Phillip Rothman began his career as an agent with New York Life Insurance Company and quickly came to love his profession, achieving the Certificate of Excellence and becoming a Career Executive Council Agent. Joining ipb Financial, allowed for the greatest flexibility in offering insurance products across all carriers.  His passion for the work stems from his ability to offer thoughtful products that increase net worth and give his clients the options they need to live the lives they desire. 

 

Working with his contemporaries as they face milestone moments of life from marriage to parenthood and beyond, he relates to his clients on a personal basis and works to design creative ways to balance the needs that come with new responsibilities. 

 

A double major in Engineering and Finance from Tulane University, this background has laid the groundwork for combining the discipline, creativity, and enthusiasm that he brings to his role today.

 

Phillip comes from a family of entrepreneurs in Manhattan, and is an active member of the community serving on the Board of Young Patrons for Lincoln Center, coaching for the Yorkville Youth Basketball League, playing golf throughout the tri-state area, and participating in all New York City offers. 

 

Vasantha Toovey

Client Relations Executive / Office Manager

Vasantha “Santa” Toovey has worked in the banking and insurance industry for the past 17 years. Her knowledge and proficiency in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) process has ensured that every business operation adds value to our customers. She has a friendly and empathetic disposition that people gravitate to, as well as her patience and understanding to guide and assist customers as needed. 

Santa graduated in the top 1% of her class with an Executive MBA and MS in Human Resource Management. For her undergraduate, she graduated in the top 10% of class with BA in Business, Management, and Finance as well as a BS in Philosophy and Law.

The most important aspect of her life is her family, beyond that she is an avid reader and loves food, particularly chocolate cake. So any suggestions on where to find good cake is always welcome.
